ITENARY

Day 1: Short bike and hike trip to Entebbe surrounding Fishing villages.

Day 2: Visit Entebbe based agricultural farms and commercial farms and a morning trek to Entebbe Botanical Gardens

Day 3: Visit Walusimbi Agro-Mixed Farm to explore the banana, sweet potatoes and cassava farming exploration farming practices of native residents of Kyagwe County in Buganda region.

Day 4: A day trip to  Ankole cattle ranch exploration at BJ-K Ankole Cattle Ranch and Ankole Cattle Conservation program in Ssembabule District.

Day 5: Early morning transfer back to Entebbe.

Day 1: Transfer from Entebbe Airport to Entebbe Guest House. Upon arrival, if still day time, you shall undertake a short bike and hike trip to Entebbe surrounding Fishing villages. The bike and hike trail shall begin from Kigungu fish landing site with an optional boat ride to Equator line crossing on Lake Victoria. The trek shall then proceed to Nakiwogo Fishing Village and landing site were you will also visit the roadside fresh fish markets. The trail shall end with an evening Sun set boat cruise to Kasenyi Fishing Village and landing site for clear sun set views.

Day 2: Undertake the whole day tourism various Entebbe based agricultural farms and commercial farms. Morning trek to Entebbe Botanical Garden’s to learn about the various commercial and non-commercial plant species. Then proceed to Ssebugwaawo Mixed Farm for an experience into urban large scale Coffee farming and traditional food crops farming practices of the Buganda natives. After lunch, you shall proceed to Wagagai Flower Farm a Dutch owned and operated flower cuttings farm to get ancquitted to modern flower farming and packing technologies used at the farm. The day shall end with a short trip to Kisubi Coventry Farms to see the catholic brothers farming systems that have been in place for the last 30 years.

Day 3: After early morning breakfast, we shall transfer to Mukono to Walusimbi Agro-Mixed Farm to explore the banana, sweet potatoes and cassava farming exploration farming practices of native residents of Kyagwe County in Buganda region. Around mid-morning, we shall then proceed to Mukono Zonal Agricultural and Forestry research station where you will get informed of the various natural forest plant bio diversity and forest conservation initiative’s taking place at Zirimiti Forest Reserve. Here you will have an opportunity to harvest wild mushrooms a profound delicacy in Kiganda traditional culture.

After lunch time, the caravan shall proceed to Lugazi Sugarcane Farm via Ssezibwa falls and cultural site. At Lugazi, you will interact with local residents on the mono-culture farming practices and their sustainability to farming communities in this area. The second day shall end with a trip to Mpanga Tea Farm Estate situated along Jinja highway. At the tea farm estate, you will be educated about the Tea species planting at one of the oldest tea farm estate in Uganda.

Day 4: Undertake the whole day Ankole cattle ranch exploration at BJ-K Ankole Cattle Ranch and Ankole Cattle Conservation program in Ssembabule District. At BJ-K Ankole Cattle Conservation Farm you will learn about the Ankole cattle farming and Ankole “Watusi” cattle heritage preservation practices among the Bahima pastoral communities.

After lunch you will proceed to Ssembeguya Orange Farm and Goat Multiplication Farm. At this far, visitors shall be introduced to organic citrus farming practices as well as the traditional commercial goat multiplication methods used at Ssembeguya Farm. The day shall end with an evening cultural heritage trek to the Ankole traditional pastoral community livelihoods as well as an OPTIONAL game drive to Lake Mburo N.P for Big Five Game viewing and photography.

Day 5: Early morning transfer back to Entebbe.
